Google has done an amazing job at helping consumers see who has the best reviews before making a purchase. Unfortunately, home improvement contractors have found ways around this to manipulate consumers. Should you rely on the Google Reviews?
Did you know there are sales organizations solely designed to “help” roofing companies get all positive 5-star Google reviews? These companies will sell packages for 50, 100, and 150 positive 5-Star Google reviews. The sales organizations then use fake created google emails so that they can leave 5-Star reviews for the roofing companies.
If a roofing company in your area is claiming to have a perfect 5-Star Google rating and has over 100 reviews, BEWARE! It could very easily be the result of fake google reviews. Not only that, but if a company has hundreds of Google reviews and has only been in business for a few years, you may want to look a little deeper. How can they have so many “real” reviews, yet haven’t even performed that many jobs? Some may even bribe customers to leave 5-Star only reviews.
Although Google reviews are extremely helpful when choosing a reliable roofing contractor, it is critical for you to do your homework so that you are not fooled. If it appears “too good to be true,” it probably is. This is why years in business is something to keep in mind while looking at google reviews.
